PRESCRIPTIVE SCREENING CRITERIA

“Vents shall be screened with a corrosion-resistant, noncombustible wire mesh with the mesh opening not to exceed nominal 1/8 in.”

RidgeArmor is manufactured from corrosion-resistant, noncombustible Type 304 stainless-steel wire mesh with 1/8-inch openings. These specifications align with the material and maximum-opening criteria described in NFPA 1140 §25.3.3.

NFPA 1140 is a consensus standard. Its enforceability depends on whether it has been adopted or incorporated by the governing jurisdiction.
